Back from Gracyn’s follow-up in St. Louis

We have just returned from our March 1 check up in St. Louis. Dr. Park and his therapist said agree that Gracyn looks great and is  progressing well! He has cut her back to PT only twice a week, once a week next year. He has also reduced her braces down to an ankle height brace on her right side and a shoe insert on the left. He feels that if we stretch her heel cords daily and keep her active, she will not need further surgery.
She has made so much progress in the last month. She is walking with her heels down when we cue her. On her left side she even walks heel – toe. Her strength and balance have improved and she can wiggle her toes. She sits criss cross apple sauce and plays hop scotch. She walks up and down the steps without holding on. There are so many small things she can do now that she couldn’t do before surgery, things most people wouldn’t notice, things I took for granted with my other children. It is a blessing and a miracle.
Today as I looked over the pictures from Operation Gracyn, I couldn’t help but smile. What a wonderful time and experience. It was truly amazing what was accomplished. I will never forget the daily miracles and blessings. I have never felt so much love and support. We all miss seeing everyone at Chick Fil A each week!
Blessings to all!
